How to mail-enable or mail-disable public folders in Exchange Online

Public folders are designed for shared access. They provide an effective way to collect, organize, and share data within your group or organization. Mail-enabling a public folder enables users to send an email to it. When mail-enabled, additional settings, such as email addresses and mail quotas, become available in the Exchange admin center (EAC).

In Exchange Online PowerShell, you use the Set-PublicFolder cmdlet to manage settings before mail-enabling. Afterward, you use both Set-PublicFolder and Set-MailPublicFolder cmdlets. To allow internet users to send mail to a mail-enabled public folder, you must set additional permissions with the Add-PublicFolderClientPermission cmdlet.
