Uploading and scheduling configuration file backups
Uploading startup and running configuration files to Cisco devices
- Under Config File Manager select the device to which you wish to upload the configuration files.
- Click on the Upload icon in the top right corner.
- Select the Config File Type and specify the Device Name.
- Under File to Upload, browse the location of the configuration file you desire to upload to the device.
- Click on Upload.
Scheduling backup of startup and running configuration files
The Config File Manager helps you schedule automated backup of the startup and running configuration files of the managed Cisco device. You can also verify and audit all the changes made to the Cisco devices' configuration files. To schedule back up of the configuration files, please follow the steps below,
- In the Settings tab, click on Scheduler listed under OpUtils.
- Goto the Config File Manager tab.
- Under Scheduler, click on Enable.
- Specify the interval to perform the backup:
- Hourly: Configuration files are backed up at specified hour intervals. You need to specify the Start Time and hour interval.
- Daily: Configuration files are backed up everyday. You need to specify the Start Time.
- Weekly: Configuration files are backed up every week. You need to specify the Start Time and day.
- Monthly: Configuration files are backed up at specified every month(s). You need to specify starting time, day, and select the required month(s).
- Click Schedule to save the changes.
Note: When you schedule backup, the startup and running configuration files of all the Cisco devices added to the tool will be backed up at the specified interval.
