Manage SharePoint groups and permissions
SharePoint relies heavily on groups to control access to sites, documents, and other resources. Groups help foster effective collaboration and reduce administrative overhead by saving time spent on granting individual permissions. However, frustrations arise when admins don't get enough control using the native tool and have to manually repeat operations to add or move users. This is especially true for organizations with plenty of groups.
SharePoint Manager Plus enables admins to effectively manage groups and group memberships, in bulk, from a single window. For example, say an admin is tasked with managing multiple group members. Instead of manually adding users, they can use a CSV file to add multiple users in bulk, simultaneously giving them access to the required resources. Moreover, this doesn't require PowerShell scripts, making it easy to delegate tasks to non-admin users. Easily manage groups and control permissions effectively.
SharePoint Manager Plus offers the following group management features:
- Creating a SharePoint group
- Adding users to groups
- Removing users from groups
- Copying or moving users between groups
- Deleting SharePoint groups
Creating a SharePoint group
Setting up a SharePoint group is quick and easy. You can also configure a group to be created in multiple site collections to facilitate onboarding processes, giving users access to their required sites.

Adding users to groups
Add users to groups in bulk. Upload a CSV file containing the user or group list to add multiple users simultaneously. This saves time and frees you from repetitive effort.

Removing users from groups
Remove users from multiple groups in bulk. Speed up offboarding by adding a CSV list of groups and remove users in a click.

Copying or moving users between groups
Quickly restructure or adjust group memberships in bulk. Use this feature to transfer users to multiple groups and improve collaboration.

Deleting SharePoint groups
Clear the clutter by deleting inactive or unnecessary groups. Select multiple groups to have them deleted at once without repetitive effort.

Benefits of using SharePoint Manager Plus to manage groups
- Increased efficiency: Accelerate repeated tasks with bulk management. Save time and effort by importing a CSV file without PowerShell scripts.
- Improved collaboration: Quickly grant access to your required sites by adding, copying, or moving users between groups.
- Hybrid support: Manage groups for SharePoint Online, Subscription Edition, 2019, 2016, and 2013 from a single window.
- Granular delegation: Entrust group management tasks to non-admin users without elevating their native privileges.
