Advanced Recovery
The Advanced Recovery tab allows you to roll back Azure AD objects to an earlier state. Any modification or loss of data can be undone using this feature.
To roll back objects to any of their past states:
- Navigate to Azure AD > Azure AD Objects > Advanced Recovery.
- Select the domain in which you wish to execute the rollback process from the drop-down in the top-left corner.
- Click the Start New Rollback button located in the top-right corner of the tab.
- In the Select Restore Point section, select the date to which you would like to roll back.
- In the Criteria Filter section:
- Click the icon on the Object Type tile to filter for objects based on their type and click Save.
- Click the icon on the Object Name tile to filter for objects based on their name and click Save.
- Click Save. The next screen will show the number of objects that have been found to match the given criteria. You can narrow down your rollback search using the Display drop-down.
- Click the Review option to view the objects and attributes that will be rolled back.
- Click Rollback to complete the process.
Note: If you have configured RecoveryManager Plus with a service account instead of a domain administrator account,
you’ll be prompted to provide the credentials of a user who can write to Azure AD. If the account used to configure RecoveryManager Plus can write to Azure AD, select Use default domain credential and click Yes. If not, unselect Use default domain credential, provide the credentials of a user who can write to Azure AD, and click Yes.
