Virtual Tenants
The virtual tenant feature lets you segment and group your Microsoft 365 user objects based on your requirements.
Create a virtual tenant,
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Navigate to Configuration → Other Configuration → Virtual Tenants
- Click on Create Virtual Tenant.
- Provide a name for the virtual tenant to be created, and choose the Microsoft 365 tenant in which it must be created.
- In the Filter by section, select the users/groups/domains that must be included in the virtual tenant based on the display name, office, domain, country, and other attributes.
- Click Save.
To change the precedence of Virtual Tenants
- In the Virtual Tenants page, click on the Precedence option found in the top right corner.
- The window will display all the configured virtual tenants. The order of precedence decreases from the top with the top most virtual tenant having the highest precedence.
- Drag-and-drop to reorder the the virtual tenants as per the requirements.
Note: By default, the Default Virtual Tenant will be given the highest order of precedence.
Delegate a virtual tenant
Note: Virtual tenant delegation must be enabled to perform this operation. Please note that once enabled, virtual tenant delegation cannot be disabled.
- Go to Delegation tab.
- Select Help Desk Delegation → Help Desk Technician in the left pane.
- Click the under the Actions column corresponding to the technician to which a virtual tenant must be delegated.
- In the Delegates To section, select the virtual tenant to be delegated from the Virtual tenants drop-down.
- Click Save Changes
Note: While creating a new technician the Default Virtual Tenant with all Microsoft 365 objects will be automatically delegated.
Modify a virtual tenant
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Navigate to Configuration → Other Configuration → Virtual Tenants
- Click the under the Actions column corresponding to the virtual tenant to be modified.
- Modify the attributes as per your requirements.
- Click Update.
Delete a virtual tenant
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Navigate to Configuration → Other Configuration → Virtual Tenants
- Click the under the Actions column corresponding to the virtual tenant to be deleted.
- Click Yes in the pop-up.
