Asset Tagging
Asset Tagging lets you uniquely identify a device based on a set of distinct parameters. These parameters are displayed on the device lockscreen for easy identification without requiring the device to be even unlocked. MDM MSP lets you display up to 4 parameters on the lockscreen of the devices, leading to easier identification of iOS devices. Asset tagging for iOS devices in MDM MSP also lets you display an optional message on the lockscreen. This is supported for Supervised devices running iOS 8.0 or later versions.

Background Color/Custom Image | Specify the image/color to be used in the background, while the details are displayed on the foreground. In addition to adding a background, you can also preview how the text will be displayed on the selected background on various Apple devices. |
- You need to either have a message or a minimum of one parameter to be selected, for configuring this policy. If you want no text/message to be displayed, it is recommended to configure the Wallpaper policy.
- If you've distributed both Asset Tag and Wallpaper policies to a device, the lockscreen image/settings configured using Asset Tag supersedes the one configured by Wallpaper but doesn't affect the home screen image. Additionally, configuring Asset Tag prevents the users from modifying Wallpaper settings on the device.
