Managing Resources
PAM360's privileged resource and account management solution comes with an all-inclusive spread of features that allows you to manage resources efficiently from the PAM360 interface. You can edit, delete, copy, and export all of your existing resources.
- Editing Resource Details - The edit operation comes in handy in cases where the resources that you imported in bulk via the discovery operation or through a file are no longer relevant or contain incorrect attributes. The edit operation can avoid the burden of re-importing the said resources.
- Deleting Resources - The delete option allows you to delete the resources that you no longer need so that you can organize your necessary resources in an orderly fashion. The delete operation gives you an option to either move the selected resources to the Trash or delete them permanently.
- Copy Resources - Your enterprise's IT network may contain several resources that are identical in properties. Instead of importing all of them into PAM360, you can add one of those resources and make multiple copies of the same. In this process, the attributes of the source resource are applied to all the duplicates. Using the edit operation, you can modify the attributes as per your requirements at any time. Please note that the duplicated resources also inherits the following attributes from the source resource:
- The resource-level and account-level share permissions.
- Access control settings configured for the source resource.
- All the accounts that are under the source resource.
- Password history of the accounts that are part of the source resource.
- Exporting Resources - PAM360 offers several secure options to export the passwords of resources stored in the solution if you wish to have an offline copy for safekeeping. You can either export resource attributes in plain text on a spreadsheet. The file exported in this manner will contain the following options in plain text: resource name, account name, and passwords. A more secure option would be to export the passwords to an encrypted HTML file. In addition to the above, PAM360 provides integration with multiple cloud-storage services such as Dropbox, Box, and Amazon S3 services through integration. Using this, you can synchronize the encrypted HTML file directly to your desired cloud storage service.
- Transferring Ownership - As a resource owner, the administrator has complete control over the operations they can perform on the owned resources. However, under special circumstances where an administrator who is in charge of managing several resources leaves the organization, PAM360 offers an option to transfer ownership of your existing resources to other available administrators. This one-click operation ensures you don't lose access to those critical assets.
