Prerequisites for Cloud Protection Gateway Server

This page lists the prerequisites to run the Gateway Server.

Required ports

The Gateway Server requires the following ports to communicate with the cloud application server.

Inbound ports

Port Numbers Description
8200 (TCP) This is the default listener port for Gateway Server's proxy unit.

Note: Port 8200 is subjective to change as per product configuration.

Outbound ports

Apart from the ports blocked due to specific reasons by the organization's policy, the Gateway Server does not require any additional outbound ports to be configured.

Required permissions

The following permissions needs to be enabled on the Windows devices for Gateway Server installation.

  • Enable read, write and modify files permissions for "C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\DataSecurity Plus - Cloud Protection Gateway"

Hardware requirements

This section gives you information about the hardware requirements for the Cloud Protection Gateway Server installation.

For 64-bit machines

  • Any 64-bit (x64) 6-core processor or above, with a minimum speed of 2.4 GHz
  • RAM of 12 GB or more
  • Minimum of 2 GB space on the installation drive

Operating system requirements

The Cloud Protection Gateway Server can be installed and run on the following 64-bit operating systems and versions:

Windows

  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows 11
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 7

Virtual machine environments

  • Any 64-bit virtual machine environment including VMware and others.

URL whitelisting

No specific URLs require whitelisting. Please maintain unrestricted URL access, provided your firewall policies are already in place.
