Exchange databases are the physical location where user mailboxes are created and stored. Each user in Active Directory can be assigned one or more mailboxes, which then gets stored as an EDB (Exchange database) file. Apart from storing mailboxes, Exchange databases house public folders for enabling access to shared content and many other objects.
With Exchange Server 2013, you can create a database with unique properties, meaning each Exchange database can be unique. To keep track of database health, admins need to closely monitor key parameters like MAPI connectivity, backup status, and so on. Exchange Reporter Plus addresses this need by monitoring the database health, search capabilities, backups, and Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) connectivity.

Exchange Search Health
View the level of efficiency of database search operations performed in your MS Exchange Server using this report. It provides data about the search time, and the success and failure rates of the operation performed in each mailbox. It runs the Test-ExchangeSearch cmdlet to test this functionality. This feature allows admins to easily diagnose the issues in the Exchange search functionality.
MAPI Connectivity
Verify your MAPI connectivity to validate the proper functionality of your Exchange Server database. It uses the Test-MapiConnectivity cmdlet to access a mailbox for verification. This tool maintains the lists of all the successful and failed connection attempts. Successful connections validate proper functionality of the server database.
Database backup
Exchange Reporter Plus helps you to track information regarding the database backup performed during a specified period of time. This report includes details on the last full, incremental, and differential backups of your Exchange database, along with the number of days since each backup was performed. Get backup-specific information for MS Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 environments.
Exchange Reporter Plus as a web-based monitoring tool that allows you to analyze the functionality of Exchange databases without having to use PowerShell scripts. These database monitoring reports can be exported to a destination folder and even emailed in desired formats such as HTML, CSV, PDF, or XLS.
