Reports Summary
The Reports Summary page aggregates data from all the available reports in the File Analysis module and shows the number of files analyzed under each report, along with the combined data size of those files. In addition, you can view and monitor the status of scheduled data collection processes.
To view the Reports Summary:
- Select File Analysis from the applications drop-down.
- Navigate to Reports > Reports Summary.
- Select the server you want to view the reports for.
- Select your desired category of reports (Storage-Based, Permission-Based, Owner-Based, or Folder-Based).
- You can view the number and data size of files analyzed under each individual report.
- For reports like Stale Files, Old Files, and Unmodified Files, where users can set their own parameters, the report summaries will only display the counts and data sizes based on predefined parameters.
- For Folder-Based Reports, the data size is not shown, as data sizes are calculated only for files.
- For Permission-Based Reports, the Full Control report is not included, as its parameters are user-defined.
- Upon clicking any report, you will be taken to the corresponding report page for further in-depth analysis.
Note: The data in the Reports Summary is generated through a back-end data crunch, which initiates periodically along with other data crunches. If there is a mismatch between the data in the reports and the summary, you can click the Run Crunch button at the top of the Reports Summary page. This manually initiates the Reports Summary crunch to synchronize the data. Learn more about data crunches here.
Data Collection Status
Under Data Collection Status, you can monitor the status of scheduled data scans (Disk space, Security, Incremental, Full/Metadata), including:
- View the real-time status of each scan (e.g., Success, Running, Queued, or Error).
- View the timestamp indicating the last time the particular scan was completed.
- Click Details and view additional information, including the start time and end time of the last scan and the option to initiate the scan manually.
