OpManager's WAN monitoring feature can be used to monitor various WAN various functionalities, such as monitoring the availability of WAN links, tracking their performance, and analyzing traffic patterns. When a new WAN link is detected, you can use OpManager's device templates to automate the process of adding and classifying new WAN links in the network.
A device template will have details like the device type, category, monitoring intervals, unique identification numbers (SysObject ID), and specific performance monitors.OpManager's WAN monitoring feature allows you to define a template with the required WAN monitoring settings to be used for monitoring performance. The RTT template comes with pre-populated default values. OpManager uses the configured values to simulate traffic.
OpManager uses the default settings specified under Settings → Monitoring → IPSLA → WAN Test Parameters. You can also effect some changes to the values before initiating monitoring.
You can define a threshold template so that you are alerted with the WAN monitor violates a specified value. Here are the steps to define a threshold template.
