In Real User Monitoring, keeping track of all the actual user interactions of a website or an application in real-time is essential for operators to determine whether the users are being served instantaneously without any errors. To perform this, RUM includes a remote monitoring agent to be deployed into your server where the web application is hosted and takes care of collecting and reporting the data.
Users need to place a small JavaScript snippet generated by Applications Manager in the header or footer part of the HTML code of the web application that needs to be tracked. Upon loading, the web application interacts with the RUM agent and transmits the performance data constantly to the RUM agent, which is then captured and presented in the Applications Manager web client.
