Protecting user privacy is vital in today’s digital age. At Applications Manager, we ensure that all collected data is processed securely, without compromising user privacy or data security. This page explains how Applications Manager uses visitor information to perform Real User Monitoring within your IT infrastructure, thereby safeguarding your users’ privacy and, by extension, your brand.
Whenever a visitor accesses your website, the RUM script embedded in your pages interacts with the RUM agent and continuously transmits performance data to Applications Manager. This performance data also includes the visitor’s IP address, which is used to determine and provide their country and state/region information.
Applications Manager does not identify, track, collect, or store personal data of individual website visitors. It also does not inspect or save the original IP addresses. The IP address information is retained temporarily until the performance data has been processed throughout the monitoring pipeline. After that, the collected IP address information is discarded.
It is recommended that you include the following clause in your privacy policy statement for customers using RUM:
<Insert_brand_name> uses Real User Monitoring from ManageEngine Applications Manager to track the end-user experience on our website. Applications Manager does not use cookies to collect data or track user activity on our site. Instead, it uses a small script embedded in our pages that sends performance data about our website visitors to the Applications Manager servers.
The data collected from each user includes IP addresses, device types, operating systems, and browsers used. This information is then aggregated to help us enhance the end-user experience on our website. Applications Manager uses the individual IP addresses of our website visitors only to determine their country and state/region details and does not store any IP addresses long-term. Additionally, Applications Manager does not track or share any collected user information with third parties.
